Dear Parents, Staff, and Members of the Wanaque Community,
Stepping into my new role as Interim Superintendent, I have been greeted with an overwhelming sense of community and warmth. From the moment I walked through the Haskell and Wanaque doors, the staff and students made me feel right at home, extending a welcome beyond my expectations. Their enthusiasm and support have already begun to forge new relationships.
With over 34 years of experience in education (I promise you I am not that old, or at least I don’t feel old), serving in roles ranging from a teacher in Wyckoff to Ramsey School District Superintendent, I bring a deep commitment to fostering an environment where all students can thrive. More importantly, I am driven by a fundamental belief in the power of education to transform lives.
As I look forward to the days ahead, my excitement continues to grow. I am eager to meet more of the staff, parents, and students who make our district such a special place. I am most looking forward to building relationships, understanding needs, and working together towards our collective goals.
Here’s to the start of an incredible journey at Wanaque. Thank you to everyone who has made my first days unforgettable. Let's make great things happen together!
Warmest regards,
Matthew J. Murphy, Ed. D.
Interim Superintendent of Schools
